Let the man work

I read an article condemning Carney for apologizing to Trump. I understand why, and if the person who wrote the editorial was truly observant, he/she would know too. Trump is an unstable egoist who retaliates when his little feelings are hurt. Carney has been trying to soften the situation with Trump and his proposal to impose additional tariffs because of a Reagan commercial launched by Ontario that he believes is trying to influence his legal battle over the legality of the tariffs. I believe Carney has an idea to calm Trump down so we can continue our negotiations. His statement that the federal government is responsible for negotiations politely urges his provincial partners to back off for now. Let the man try to do his job!

The end of Canada?
Thursday could be the beginning of the end for Canada. Prime Minister Mark Carney has one very narrow chance to save Canada on Thursday. Carney should unequivocally approve the pipeline, with full C-5 authority to expeditiously build a pipeline to the coast. Any change to the gate conditions, which has been a hallmark of past Liberal pipeline blocking tactics, would be immediately rejected by Alberta and send Albertans full speed ahead toward independence from Canada. Once Alberta leaves in 2026, you can expect Quebec, which has only ever really defended itself and not Canada, to leave Canada soon after.

Taxpayer funded
Unfortunately, many people don't realize that governments don't have money. The only money they have is what they take from us in taxes. Any money paid to any government service comes directly from the taxpayer's pocket. To those who support the increases proposed by unions: would you be willing to raise your personal tax rate to cover these costs? If the poll had been conducted this way, I wonder how many people would still support these demands?

Spend money at home
My God, alive! Some Canadians still travel to the United States. I wonder why? Donald Trump still wants to make Canada his 51st state. Come on people of Canada, avoid the US for now and show your patriotism to our country by spending your hard earned Canadian dollars here.
R. MOSKAL
(An increasing number of Canadians are doing just that.)
