The Calgary Stampeders will be without several starters when they visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday, including offensive lineman D'Antna Demery, defensive lineman Lorenzo Mauldin IV and defensive end Damon Webb.
Demery has made 13 starts at left tackle this season, helping Calgary rank second in yards per game (121.1) and fifth in sacks allowed (27). The 28-year-old Brunswick, Ga. native missed practice all week with a shoulder injury and will be replaced in the starting lineup by Joshua Coker, who normally plays right tackle. Preston Nichols, a freshman from Purdue University, will start at right tackle in Coker's place.
Mauldin IV was acquired in a trade with the Ottawa Redblacks shortly before the trade deadline and started in Calgary's last game against the BC Lions, although he did not record any statistics. The 33-year-old was limited in training with an ankle injury on Wednesday and Thursday and has since been sidelined against Hamilton.
Sean Peterson Jr. will make his first career start in place of Mauldin. The six-foot-three, 240-pound native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, played three regular-season games as a rookie for the Stampeders this year, recording two defensive tackles, five special teams tackles and two sacks.
Damon Webb, who was named All-CFL with the Redblacks last season, has made 15 straight starts at safety and recorded 60 defensive tackles, two interceptions and two touchdowns. This week, due to a pectoral injury, the 29-year-old Detroit, Michigan native will be replaced in the starting lineup by Australian-born cornerback Bailey Devine-Scott, who had 22 defensive tackles, 33 special teams tackles and one sack in 42 regular-season games for the Stampeders.
Calgary also made a change at boundary linebacker, where Lance Robinson will make his first career CFL start. The 25-year-old New Orleans, Louisiana native joined the team's practice squad last month and will replace Tyler Richardson. which was released after starting last week.
