Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers set for USA Basketball camp debuts | USA women’s basketball team

Caitlin Clark will make her Team USA basketball debut at Duke next month.

The Indiana Fever All-Star, who missed the second half of the WNBA season with a groin injury, was invited to several camps while she was in college at Iowa, but the timing didn't work out.

She will be there along with newcomers Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers, Cameron Brink, Sonya Citron, Veronica Burton, Kiki Iriafen and Ricky Jackson. College players Lauren Betts of UCLA and JuJu Watkins of Southern California are also invited. Watkins is out for the season while she recovers from an anterior cruciate ligament injury she suffered in the NCAA Tournament last season.

The newcomers will be joined by Paris Olympic gold medalists Kali Copper, Chelsea Gray, Brittney Greiner, Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young. Diricka Hamby, who won a bronze medal in 3-on-3 at the 2024 Games, will also participate in the camp. Briona Jones, who helped the U.S. win gold at the 2022 World Cup, will also be in North Carolina for training camp, as will Aaliyah Boston.

Kara Lawson, who was selected by Sue Bird to coach Team USA in September, will lead the training camp, which will take place from December 12 to 14. She will be joined by WNBA coaches Nate Tibbetts of Phoenix, Stephanie White of Indiana and Natalie Nakase of Golden State.

The United States will play qualifying matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in March. Americans are on par with Italy, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Senegal and Spain. Although the U.S. is a qualifier, it has already secured its spot after winning the Women's AmeriCup this year.
