For the past few years, Nick Suzuki has been trying to learn French. We know that this is an important element in the city… and the way he tries to learn it shows that the captain wants to make an effort to integrate into the city.
You know, this is already a big improvement compared to some of the guys before him.
We saw Suzuki give an interview in French to Felix Seguin before the start of the season… and from the very beginning of the day we saw another video in which the captain expresses his thoughts in the language of Molière.
This time it's part of an advertisement Tim Hortonsin which the captain says that the chain's new menu smells…
He then retracts his statement, saying it smells more like “caramel.” No, it doesn’t smell like the Chalice (yet?).
It's worth remembering that this isn't the first time Suzuki has featured in a network ad: last year he said he wants to be traded…before clarifying that he only wanted to change his order.
This advert also featured Chantal Machabe, which was not the case this year.
Obviously, it is easier for players to dare to speak French through advertisements, since they often have a script ready in advance and can practice. This is much more obvious than answering media questions in French, let’s say (especially since the guys don’t want their words to be misinterpreted).

But Suzuki, who continues to make efforts to integrate into Quebec culture, is again featured in a commercial in which he speaks French.
And obviously the Canadiens are in high demand these days because The captain isn't the only player featured in advertising these days.

– Interesting.
Darren Dreger: Bedard and Celebrini/Team Canada: It doesn't seem like Canada believes they have room for both; I'm in the camp of those who think [Celebrini's] closer to being blocked than fighting for a spot – Hockey Sense (11/1)

Darren Dreger: I'll be interested to see if that's true or not. [Necas] the standard applies to Adrian Kempe's negotiations in Los Angeles, where it is currently quiet; there is an opinion that the Kempe camp wants at least $11 million or north – Hockey Sense (11/1)
