Take a look at the marathon concept
Bangui has released a new ViDoc called “Vision of Marathon”, offering a deeper look at the studio's upcoming PvPvE evacuation and survival shooter. Marathon is set in a dark sci-fi universe. Players are dropped into the abandoned colony of Tau Ceti IV, where survival depends on strategy, awareness, and calculated risk-taking. Players take on the role of bio-cybernetic runners as they navigate a hostile environment, facing enemy security forces, rival runners, and ever-changing threats.
ViDoc highlights several important updates that shape the overall experience. The developers are introducing Ambient chat for better immersion, and a solo queue option allows players to enter matches alone. Bungie also introduced the Rook Shell, a limited-time item designed for use in matches already in progress. In addition to these features, the team has refined the survival mechanics, increased the level of environmental threats, and improved the visual quality and user interface to create a more cohesive and atmospheric world.
Marathon will launch in March 2026, and players will have the opportunity to try out the game before its release. The game will be available on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S and will support full cross-play and cross-save across platforms. The game is currently priced at $39.99/€39.99/£34.99, with regional pricing to be confirmed.
Purchasing Marathon provides access to all gameplay updates released throughout the year, including new maps, Runner sleeves, and limited-time events. Season 1 will unlock access to the Cryo Archive, the first deck of the UESC Marathon ship. Bungie emphasized fairness in competition by confirming that there is no “pay to win” system. Reward passes will remain valid forever, allowing players to earn content at their own pace, including through previously released passes. More details about seasonal content and the long-term roadmap will be released in January 2026.
