“Are you bald or ready to become bald?” So reads the attention-grabbing headline for the film's early screening. Focusing Features'conspiracy thriller Bugoniawhat stars Emma Stone as a powerful CEO who is kidnapped and subsequently shaved.

An invite to an eventstaged by DoLA at the Culver Theater in Los Angeles this coming Monday, promises a special extended screening of Yorgos Lanthimos' latest feature film for “anyone who's bald. If you're not bald, we'll have a barber on site to shave your head so you can watch the movie.”

Although the show will begin at 8:00 p.m., a barber will be on site starting at 6:00 p.m. to begin shaving heads. Advertising screenings on a first-come, first-served basis will be filmed for marketing purposes and free tickets do not guarantee admission.

The stunt is the latest in a series of unconventional film promotional tactics: Just last month, Lionsgate held a special preview screening (also at the Culver Theater) of the Stephen King adaptation. Long walkin which participants had to maintain a walking speed of 3 mph on a treadmill otherwise you risk being kicked out of the theater. The creative stunt mirrored the rules of the game in the film, about a fascist 1970s America in which boys volunteer to participate in a walking marathon for a tempting cash prize – albeit with far less fatal consequences.

BugoniaHaving its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, the film is set for a limited release on October 24, followed by a wide expansion around Halloween. The sci-fi satire follows an executive who is captured by a pair of conspiracy-obsessed humans (Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis) convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying the Earth.
