Buddy Bug Is Releasing Its Debut Demo on Steam Next Week

Enter the miniature world in Buddy Bug

Wildfire Game, the studio known for Eastern Exorcist, is inviting players to dive into something much smaller, but no less intense, with its upcoming game Buddy Bug. The 2D co-op roguelike immerses players in a hidden insect society beneath the human world, where survival depends on creativity and quick thinking. The first public demo of the game will be available next week on Steam.

In Buddy Bug, ordinary human objects become essential survival tools. Bottle caps become shields, thumbtacks become weapons, and lighters ignite explosive devices. Each item reflects the inventive engineering of the insect world, transforming discarded trash into instruments of chaos and invention. Players can conquer this tiny world alone or team up in local co-op, with support for online multiplayer planned in the future.

The demo features a hand-crafted stage inspired by two biomes from the full version, allowing you to experience the game's multi-level environments and dynamic combat. It includes four different types of weapons and more than ten gadgets, each of which is designed to interact through elementary reactions. The new specialization system allows players to experiment with builds and abilities, making each playthrough unique.

According to Wildfire Game, Buddy Bug aims to combine tactile, physics-based chaos with the strategic depth of roguelike mechanics. The developers describe the demo as a small but lively glimpse into a world where insects create, fight and survive in miniature arenas of creativity and danger. Featuring an imaginative setting and dynamic experimentation, Buddy Bug promises to redefine the roguelike when it launches on Steam next week as a demo.
