The 18-year-old high school senior shot an 83 in the first round at ANNIKA Golf Club in Bellaire, Fla., placing her in last place out of 108 players in one round. The next day she returned with a score of five over 75, but it was not enough to make a cut.
It was an invaluable experience for Trump, who will play golf at the University of Miami next year.

Bryson DeChambeau who cuddled with the president's granddaughter at the Ryder Cup was impressed by Trump's performance.
“She scored five points in the second round, which is really impressive. We didn't know how she would handle it, she handled herself very well and what a great opportunity,” DeChambeau told Fox News Digital in a recent interview.
“I talked to [tournament host] Annika [Sorenstam]. She's on the board for sports, fitness and nutrition, and we were just talking about, you know, “What do you think about this?” We've both been talking and this is a great opportunity. She was like, “There are a lot of others who got invitations and they weren’t successful, but it was a great experience for them.” And I think it will be a great experience for her.”

“It’s been great to see her go out and compete and do what she enjoys and get better,” DeChambeau added. “We'll see what this story says about her, but she's a grinder and a competitor and it's fun to see her compete with some of the best in the world, although there's still a long way to go, but she's a grinder. You never know.”
After the end of the second round, Trump said she felt more “calm” compared to the first, which led to an improvement.

“I was definitely very nervous the first day. I think my nerves just got the better of me,” she said. “Honestly, when I went out there today, I felt very calm and at peace. That's why I played better. I did everything I could for this tournament. So, I think if you prepare properly, the nerves can… they're always going to be there, aren't they? They can be mitigated a little bit. So I would just say that.”
Earlier this month, Trump formally committed to the Hurricanes.
