Brown University has canceled upcoming basketball games following a deadly shooting that left two students dead and nine others injured as authorities continue to search for a suspect who remains at large.
The university's athletics department released a statement Tuesday confirming that the upcoming men's and women's meets basketball games those scheduled for Sunday were cancelled.

The women's team was scheduled to host Monmouth at the Pizzitola Sports Center, which is about a half-mile from where the shooting happened Saturday afternoon. The men's team was scheduled to travel to USC.

Trojans issued a statement calling the decision a “mutual agreement.”
“The entire USC community expresses its support for Brown University in the wake of the tragedy that has affected its students, staff, alumni and the city of Providence,” the statement said.

An unknown suspect entered the Barus and Holly Engineering Building on the Ivy League campus shortly before 4:30 p.m. ET and opened fire, killing Ella Cook and Muhammad Aziz Umurzokov.
Cook, 19, was president of the Brown University College Republican Party.
Authorities announced a suspect was in custody early Sunday, but he was later released due to a lack of evidence, officials in Providence said.

Surveillance video of the suspect has been released. In the video, the man is seen wearing all black and with his face covered. The man was seen walking through an apparent residential area.
Investigators described the person of interest as approximately 5'8″ tall with a stocky build.
