Las Vegas Raiders played their first game without star tight end Brock Bowers last week as the former 13th overall pick sat out with a knee injury.
Bowers' absence from the suit was the first of his career since the Georgia product. played in all 17 games during the historic rookie campaign.
Bowers was cope with a knee injury since he suffered from it in the first week against New England PatriotsBut he was clearly not himself, and the Raiders made the right decision to sit him last week.
We got the latest injury news on Bowers on Thursday, and it wasn't good.
Brock Bowers Injury Update
As of this writing, the Raiders have not released an injury report, but we do know that Bowers was not seen at Thursday's practice, according to Jesse Merrick of the Silver and Black Sports Network.
“Raiders TE Brock Bowers hasn't come to practice yet today.” Merrick reported. “The Raiders are taking their time with him.”
Raiders head coach Pete Carroll Carroll changed his tune a bit this week when it came to his outlook on Bowers' prospects, as Carroll called Bowers a “everyday” after calling Bowers a “weekly” last week.
While it doesn't look like Bowers will suit up, the everyday tag gives him a chance to play in Week 7. If he doesn't, the next time we might see Bowers is in Week 9, as the Raiders have a bye in Week 8.
October 5 ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Bowers had an ACL injury and a bone bruise “that affected his performance,” and Schefter added that “doctors said the only way to recover from the knee injuries he suffered on opening day against the Patriots was to rest, which Bowers was unwilling to do.”
Given the fact that he missed five practices in a row, Bowers is now getting the rest he needs and hopefully that will help him get back to 100% and get back on the field soon in Las Vegas.
