Washington commanders linebacker Bobby Wagner is a future member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. There's no denying Wagner's accomplishments: Super Bowl champion, 10-time Pro Bowler, 6-time first-team All-Pro, 5-time second-team All-Pro, 2010s NFL All-Decade Team, and many more.
Although CommandersThe 2025 season didn't go as expected, but Wagner is still playing at a high level. His 137 tackles rank fifth in the NFL, and he also has six tackles for loss, three sacks and two interceptions. He struggles in coverage, but remains a mainstay for Washington on and off the field.

As for off the field, Wagner also had a good year there. When Wagner first signed with the Commanders in March 2024, he said he was taking classes at nearby Howard University to earn his MBA. He is now a graduate of Howard University. Wagner told reporters Thursday that he finished coursework last week and plans to go camping in the spring.
“From the outside world's perspective, if you do anything else, they feel like you're not focused,” Wagner said. via John Keim from ESPN. “And then when you retire and nothing happens, they say, 'Why didn't you do something else?' And so you can't really listen to what people have to say because they're not you at the end of your career trying to figure everything out. I'm trying to destroy that concept.”
Another incredible achievement for Wagner, who is also active in the business world. In July 2025, Wagner became a minority owner of the Seattle Storm WNBA team.

The Commanders have three games remaining this season. Wagner could have made even more history. He has 1,975 career tackles. Only two players in NFL history have ever made more than 2,000 tackles: Ray Lewis and London Fletcher. It's worth noting that the NFL didn't officially record tackle statistics until 1978. The league began tracking single tackles in 1994.
Fletcher, who spent his last seven seasons in Washington and is currently a radio analyst for the Commanders, has been Wagner's mentor over the years. Somehow he's still not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Wagner and the Commanders will face the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday at 5:00 pm ET.
