Join the hunt at Blue Ridge Hunting
Six One Publishing has officially announced Blue Ridge Hunting, a co-op online horror adventure coming to PC via Steam. Developed by Jade Meadows, the game invites players to join the Appalachian Investigation Team. This is a team dedicated to uncovering the truth behind mysterious phenomena and eerie folklore. Those wishing to take part can support the game at Kickstarter and experience the debut demo, which offers a first look at the group's dangerous training missions.
Inspired by real-life legends and local tales, Blue Ridge Hunting combines survival horror with cooperative gameplay. Players will work together using a range of tools to collect clues and track elusive creatures. Each successful hunt brings money to improve equipment. However, the most important thing is communication. Players can use voice chat and radio to bring players closer together, but they risk attracting the attention of nearby monsters who are always listening.
In its full release, Blue Ridge Hunting will stand out from other co-op horror games with its full story mode. The story follows Levi Chambers, a West Virginia native who is haunted throughout his life by his infamous encounters with the infamous Mothman. Levi's journey through Appalachia reveals chilling truths and introduces a cast of memorable characters and terrifying creatures that blur the line between myth and reality.
In addition to scares, the game explores themes of grief, intergenerational trauma, and family, framed in Appalachian folklore. Meadows describes the project as a tribute to West Virginia culture, a story that celebrates its spirit and resilience while confronting the darker chapters of its history. Blue Ridge Hunting promises to be a thrilling and heart-warming adventure set in one of America's most mysterious landscapes. So, show some Kickstarter love and try out the demo now.
