Recently, Rogers shared some information about the first three games of the Blue Jays vs. Dodgers World Series.
Canadians across the country “broke internet data usage records during the first three games,” according to the Toronto-based carrier. Rogers Xfinity customers consumed 145,000 TB of data during Games 1, 2 and 3, which is the equivalent of streaming a three-minute video of the Jays' Addison Barger hitting a grand slam 1.28 billion times.
Rogers shared the following statistics regarding his network and the World Series:
- “During Games 1, 2 and 3, nearly half of our television viewers watched the game on Rogers Xfinity TV.”
- “During Game 3, which lasted 18 innings, our customers used 65,000 TB of data on Rogers' wired network—the equivalent of sharing a photo of Alejandro Kirk hitting a home run 23 billion times.”
- “During Games 1 and 2, our customers used more than 80,000 TB on the Rogers wired network.”
- “Customers attending Game 1 at the Rogers Center used 6.8 TB of wireless data, the highest volume ever for a home game in Toronto.”
Oddly enough, due to the crappy Bell Wi-Fi at my house, my roommate had to watch Game 3 according to his Rogers.
We're interested in hearing more from Rogers about the next games and have reached out to the carrier for updates when they become available.
Game 5 of the World Series will begin at 8:00 pm ET at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Find out how to watch today's game is here.
