Blue Jays fans’ Canadian kindness on display

TORONTO — A viral Reddit thread has prompted more than 150 Blue Jays fans to donate to Seattle Children's Hospital.

In a comment on October 20, Reddit user @brownmagician wrote that they would donate to the hospital if the Jays beat the Seattle Mariners to go to the World Series.

In response, the user posted a screenshot of the donation receipt, prompting other fans to chime in and post proof of their own donations to the hospital.

A hospital spokesperson confirmed to media that they have received more than 150 donations from Blue Jays fans.

Other displays of sportsmanship include an Instagram video of a Dodgers fan receiving a very Canadian pitch during Game 1 of the World Series.

As the Blue Jays quickly swept the Los Angeles Dodgers, one Jays fan shared a video of a Dodgers fan in her section of the Rogers Center receiving a delivery of poutine and a Blue Jays cap mid-game, which he happily accepted.
