Blue Jays 50/50 jackpot winner worth $25M from World Series run from Oshawa, Ont.

The Jays Care Foundation has announced the lucky winner of the $25 million World Series 50/50 jackpot.

The winner of the record jackpot drawing was a resident named Arik from Oshawa, Ont., the foundation announced Monday. Didn't indicate his last name.

The Blue Jays 50/50 Jackpot is a sweepstakes run by the Jays Care Foundation in which fans purchase tickets and the total money raised is split equally, with half going to the winner and half going to support community programs across Canada.

Nova Scotians joined Ontario last year they were allowed to buy 50-50 tickets online for a popular lottery.

The jackpot gets bigger the more tickets are sold, and the World Series games were sold out, as well as a huge TV audience, making it the biggest jackpot in its history.

“Thank you, Blue Jays fans, for raising a record $25,010,057 this World Series. We truly appreciate your incredible support throughout the season,” the foundation wrote on X.

The Toronto Blue Jays lost the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a heartbreaking Game 7 on Saturday night. The Dodgers won the game 5–4 and won the series 4–3.
