Global pop -sensation Blackpink were chosen as Time magazineAreTenmer of the Yearer 2022, making a group of four women the second K-Pop artist to earn the title after BTS in 2020.
Selected YG Entertainment, a large South Korean recording label that shifts performers for star quality and intensively teaches them, quartet – Jenny, Jis, Lisa and Rose – quickly found international fame after their debut in 2016.
Their first LP, The Album, sold more than a million copies less than a month after its release of 2020.
In some time, celebrating the Ertein of the Year Award, the group returned its journey from playing Coachella in 2019 to the performance of Pink Venom on the VMA in the beginning of this year.
“We put a lot of work to look like super -are,” said rapper Jenny Time. “We are very normal girls, at the end of the day.”
Speaking about their success – and how pressure comes with him – Jenny said that the group protrudes from the heart.
“If we consider this a business, we will not be able to do this,” she said.
Part of the global success of the group proceeds from their cosmopolitan origin. Singer Rosa, who was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia, called it a “plus” in the studio that they are all from “different cultures”.
Jenny was born in South Korea, but grew up in New Zealand, and the dancer Lisa from Thailand. Jisoo singer is the only group born and grew up in South Korea.
Blackpink is currently performing throughout Europe until the end of the year as part of its “Born Pink” of the world tour, which began in October.
