- It adds a bunch of new maps, weapons and more for each mode.
Season 1 Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has been revealed, and it's one of the biggest updates in the series' history.
The release is scheduled for next week, December 4th. It contains a ton of content for all major FPS modes.
On day one, it includes four multiplayer maps: the all-new Fate, Utopia and Odysseus, as well as a remaster of the fan-favorite Standoff from Black Ops 2. This will be followed by a holiday version of Hijacked, followed by a brand new Japanese map called Yakei and a remaster of Meltdown, again from Black Ops 2.
If all this wasn't enough, Fringe, a card from last year Black Opera 6, will also be presented.
Of all these cards, Fate and Yakei are the most interesting to me. Fate is set in a twisted version of Menendez's iconic Nicaraguan lair from Back Operations 2 campaign with a floating island and giant machetes sticking out of the ground.
It's an incredibly nostalgic card, but with a surreal edge that, in my opinion, makes it one of the coolest cards in the series so far.
Yakei has the same strong art direction, which makes me eager to dive into it. Set on the rooftops of a futuristic Japanese city, it's filled with neon lights and brightly colored billboards with plenty of protrusions that are perfect for parkour.
In addition to this plethora of maps, a number of new modes have been added, including the return of Prop Hunt, Alone in Cell, Sniper, Gun Play, Capture, and Sticks and Stones.
Two limited-time Codmas modes will also be available during the holidays: Snowball and Holiday Mayhem.
There will also be a variety of new weapons arriving throughout the season, including the Kogot-7 SMG, Maddox RFB Assault Rifle, Falcon 545 LMG, NX Ravager Crossbow, Ballistic Knife, Sturmwolf 45 SMG, and Hawker HX Sniper Rifle.
You'll also be able to earn new gadgets, including one particularly scary-sounding one that lets you use super-fast Akita shotguns while akimbo.
The finale gets mega content
The co-op campaign mode, which was recently made available to all players regardless of campaign progress, will get even bigger thanks to four incredibly strange events in the new world.
In Colossus of Avalon, high level players will have to take down one of the giant mech robots we previously saw marching menacingly in the background. Black Ops 2 Zombie cards.
The Wraith Wing world event will feature another new boss in the form of a giant VTOL that hunts down squads. Instead of focusing on one big boss, Toxic Tyrant will challenge players to defeat waves of powerful enemies brought on by deadly biological weapons scattered across the world.
Publisher Activision is also announcing another world event, but we'll have to wait and see what it is.
For the most experienced players, the new Exotic Skill system will provide the opportunity to further enhance your character with special abilities by completing these world events.
Zombie Expands and More
The new Astra Malorum map showcases the many additions coming to Zombies with new enemy types, wonder weapons, traps, and a main quest to dive into.
Survival fans will also get a new environment at Gate 115, which is located in the Reba's Diner area of the existing Ashes of the Damned map.
I'm barely scratching the surface here as all of this comes with new challenges, camos, time-limited events, and more.
Big changes coming to the free-to-play game war zone component too, namely in the form of a new revival card and two Black Opera 7-Thematic attractions appear in Verdansk.
