Test your skills in Bingo Betty
Independent developer Elias Austin has announced his debut game, Bingo Betty, a darkly comic roguelike that reimagines bingo as a tense, strategy-based experience. A free demo is now available on Steam, with early access keys being offered to streamers and content creators. A full release is planned for the first half of 2026.
Bingo Betty takes the familiar structure of bingo and places it in a dark underground tournament where desperate elderly players bet their remaining Social Security checks in hopes of a final payout. What begins as a drawing of numbered balls quickly turns into a rigorous test of planning, risk management and adaptability. In each run, players progress through seven stages of escalation with targets that require increasingly precise decisions.
Instead of relying solely on luck, players actively shape each round. They will draw balls from a limited pool and place them directly on the bingo cards, with the corresponding spots unlocking bonuses and special effects. Strategic placement allows players to create powerful combos, create valuable lanes, and string together scoring opportunities. The choice between getting immediate points or waiting for a bigger win becomes central to survival.
The tension builds as the draws diminish. Failure to reach the required number of points before the turns run out results in the race ending abruptly. This constant pressure adds weight to every decision, turning a traditionally quiet pastime into an intense, high-stakes competition.
With a disturbing premise, dark humor and an evolution of the roguelike, Bingo Betty promises to offer a fresh take on the classic game, combining familiar rules with clever strategy and a darkly satirical twist. So, try the demo and add the game to your wishlist now.
