Monsters are coming! takes city survival and tower defense to the next level with a moving city, and there are plenty of upgrades you can use to help you survive longer.
Upgrades usually come in two types: “Hero” and “City”. There are many options available in both categories. While you'll be able to get all the upgrades over time, you'll have to be selective about how you use your resources. This guide will list the best upgrades for your hero and city after you first start playing the game.
I've listed the top three options in each category.
The best hero upgrades in Monsters are Coming!
During the race, your hero has different responsibilities. This includes killing enemies, collecting resources, and finding secret places on the map. Upgrading your heroes will increase their potential. Here are my top three picks.
- Movement: I like to move around a lot with my Hero. Increasing your movement speed will allow your hero to move around the map faster. This allows them to quickly turn in different directions and engage enemies. This also allows him to reach more areas of the map faster and collect more resources. I think it's best to improve as many Moves as possible to help your cause.
- Load capacity: Resources are vital in Monsters are coming! since you can build your city faster. Running back and forth to return them is possible, but extremely inconvenient. Increasing the amount of resources you can carry reduces this problem. You lose fewer resources, get more back, and upgrade your city faster.
- Damage: While upgrading health and armor is a good choice, I prefer to invest more in damage. Monsters are coming! much more relaxing when it comes to Death of a Hero. Instead, improving your Hero's damage potential will allow him to kill more enemies and die less. This brings more resources and makes it easier to level up your city.
The best city upgrades in Monsters are coming!
Here are my top three options for improving the city.
- Fortifications: The death of your Hero may not automatically end your run, but damaging your city will. Repairing your city is much more difficult, and investing in fortifications will help it last longer. While investing in city health is also a good choice, I prefer to upgrade fortifications.
- Tower Damage: Increasing the base damage of your towers will allow you to destroy more enemies and prevent them from reaching the city. This modifier also applies to all types of towers, so building it is one of the best ways to ensure survival for a longer period of time.
- Attack speed: I thought about including attack range in this list, but the faster the better. Your city quickly kills enemies and prevents them from causing damage. Having more range is useful, but your towers will still be able to attack monsters when they get close enough. High damage means that the proximity of enemies doesn't matter much.
