Bell to launch internet in Western Canada using Telus fibre

After Bell stopped spending on infrastructure because they didn't want Telus to expand into Ontario and Quebecit will not change its position and move into Western Canada using Telus technology.

Residents of British Columbia and Alberta can expect to start using Bell's service in November, but at launch it will only be available to people using the telco's mobile service. There will also be special prices for kits. I expect them to be better than anything we've seen from Bell in the near future as they enter a new market.

This is a big turnaround for the company because actively opposed the CRTC to overturn the decision this allowed three large telecommunications companies to share services on each other's infrastructure. He even launched a massive marketing campaign against the CRTC, arguing that it would stifle innovation.

At Investor Day, Bell's CEO said fiber “will continue to drive growth in the coming years” and mentioned phasing out copper internet lines, according to the report Canadian Press. This suggests the operator is investing again in fiber deployment, but MobileSyrup asked for clarification.

To streamline its home internet plans and attract more customers to Bell, the operator is going to stop selling home internet and TV from Virgin Plus. Virgin and Lucky Mobile will now return to offering mobile-only plans.
