Believe it or not, upcoming open-world RPG Where Winds Meet has over 10 million pre-registrations, here’s why you should care

Where Winds Meet, an upcoming open-world RPG, has 10 million pre-registered players. This comes as the game approaches its November 14 release date.

Available for pre-download from November 12, Where Winds Meet was announced last year and has since gained passionate support among players looking to experience an interesting combination of martial arts and wuxia combat. This also makes the game completely free to play, with financial support provided through cosmetic microtransactions.

The game itself is divided into two parts, which is quite interesting. There is a giant single-player component where you play through most of the story on your own or in co-op. The game also has a large multiplayer section where you can join guilds, dungeons, raids, PvP battles and much more. So there's a bit of an MMO feel to it, which will definitely help set it apart from other action games.

The game has professions, different fighting styles, parkour, character customization, and all sorts of exploration features that will keep you interested for a while. It's a game that doesn't generate a lot of buzz in this busy game release season, but as pre-registration data shows, there's a lot of hype surrounding it.

As part of reaching that 10 million pre-registration figure, players will receive an in-game thank you gift at launch, which is a nice touch. Upon release, Where Winds Meet will be supported by seasonal updates, the first of which will be called Blade Out and will expand on the main story.

Where Winds Meet is the latest in a continuing line of Chinese game development studios releasing big-budget games around the world. He follows the road indicated Black Myth: Wukong, which changed the game for developers in the region. There will be others coming alongside it, including Phantom Blade Zero and Tides of Annihilation, which have yet to be released.
