BBC Studios Merges Australia & Asia Teams Into APAC Under Robin Stanton

BBC Studios brings together its businesses in Australia, New Zealand (ANZ) and Asia under the leadership of an Asia Pacific leadership team led by Stanton does.

Stanton, who joined earlier this year from CNN International as executive vice president and general manager at ANZ, takes over as the new president of APAC Media & Streaming.

The move will allow BBC Studios to optimize operations across the two regions. Phil Hardman is executive vice president and general manager of Asia, and Deadline asked what his role would entail. Earlier this year BBC Studios stopped production in Indiainstead, it entered into a multi-year agreement with Banijay Asia.

Marcus Arthur, CEO of BBC Studios Global Channels, Streaming and UKTV, said:

Prior to joining BBC Studios, Stanton held a number of senior positions at CNN International, Warner Bros. Discovery and Turner International in Australia and Singapore. She was responsible for overall business management, leading the content, commerce, marketing, digital and operations teams.

In the Asia-Pacific region, BBC Studios produces and sells many versions of its shows, including Ghosts: Australia, which launched earlier this month.

The move is the latest change from BBC Studios. Yesterday the BBC commercial division hired by Vice Studios UK boss Jamie Hall as the UK's new screenwriter.
