Battlefield Studios and EA released Redsec Battlefieldfree battle royale mode that can be accessed separately from Battlefield 6.
Available today, Redsec The action takes place in a new destructible environment called Fort Lindon, which EA described as a “sandbox” in official announcement. This value makes sense given the inclusion of a new version of Battlefield Portal, a user-generated content (UGC) toolkit that was first introduced in Battlefield 2042.
“Create a grueling combat environment using only sledgehammers, take on the best of the best in a headshot competition, or create something truly unexpected with these powerful scripting and customization tools, available for free in the Fort Lindon Sandbox,” the announcement reads.
Battlefield Studios Bet on User-Generated Content
Earlier this year The game developer said with Motive Studios Director of Production Alma Talbot and Ripple Effect Senior Producer Ryan McArthur about the making of the film Battlefield 6 (Motive Studios, Ripple Effect and Criterion support lead developer DICE). Along with the announcement that Battlefield Portal is running on Godot, the developers detailed their push for UGC.
The toolkit includes customization of the map and gameplay according to Fortnite And PUBG Battlegrounds creator modes, example including a version of the popular game Battlefield Only up game mode.
“The reaction we had in the room when we showed what players could do with Battlefield Portal was very encouraging,” Talbot said during the interview. “We love the idea of having this set of tools that gives players the ability to create their own community experiences. It's great as a developer to constantly test the game, and we're always thinking about how great it will be when our players get their hands on these tools. But what's even cooler is that our players are using our tools in ways we wouldn't expect. So I know Portal will amaze us all with the community that everyone can create out of this experience.” During the year he negotiated for several studios and projects. In April industry veterans founded Onibi with the goal of creating “the most accessible open world of user-generated content.” Three months later Roblox ugk games Grow a garden had almost 22 million concurrent users…But there were also disadvantages. Developer Rec Room, the team behind the user-generated social game of the same name, laid off “about half” of its staff in August, the call for job cuts was “a business necessity based on the company's financial trajectory.”
