Battlefield 6 debuts as best-selling game of 2025 in US

Since launching in October, Battlefield 6 has become both the best-selling game of 2025 in the US and the best-selling game in franchise history.

That's according to Circana, which also reports that the game brought in “the highest monthly US physical and digital full game sales tracked in dollars in three years.”

Battlefield 6's October sales also exceeded Battlefield 1's total sales.

The immediate success of Battlefield 6, along with mobile content and Switch 2 hardware sales, were the main factors behind a 3% increase in US consumer spending to $4.9 billion last month.

Pokémon Legends: ZA ranked second in the top 20 best-selling games for October and also debuted as the top-selling physical game of 2025 year-to-date.

Yotei's Ghost took third place. moving up a position from debut number 4. Sucker Punch Productions' title is currently the 10th best-selling game in the US and is ranked #3 on the PlayStation individual chart year-to-date.

On the mobile side, spending rose 10% last month, with Gossip Harbor and Royal Kingdom moving up one spot to No. 8 and No. 7, respectively.

“Gossip Harbor continues its seemingly inexorable growth that has characterized its entire life, increasing U.S. revenue by 12% through September,” said Sam Aune of Sensor Tower.

“Clash Royale showed a slight month-on-month decline, although its overall position is still around 4x where it was at the start of the year.”

Elsewhere, video game content revenue rose 1% to $4.3 billion, while hardware revenue jumped 36% to $351 million, driven by sales of the Nintendo Switch 2.

Switch 2 sold 328,000 units in October 2025, representing a 68% increase from initial Switch sales.

Spending on ASUS PC portable devices increased 4.8 times more than a year ago, after Xbox ASUS ROG Ally release that exceeded expectations.
