A group of war heroes on an honor flight from Wisconsin to Washington, D.C. were surprised when they landed in our nation's capital on the eve of Veterans Day… because former President Barack Obama was waiting for them.
Obama greeted the plane as it landed and spent time with veterans from the Korean and Vietnam wars.
The former president shared a video of the enjoyable interaction on social media, saying, “Ahead of Veterans Day, it was an honor to welcome a group of veterans and their families to Washington.”
Obama added… “To all who have bravely served our country, thank you and your family for your outstanding service. The sacrifices you all made to protect our country will be appreciated today and every day.”
On board, Obama grabbed the intercom and thanked the veterans for their service and sacrifice.
The trip to Washington was organized by Honor Flight Network, a nonprofit organization that brings veterans and their families to our nation's capital to visit monuments throughout the city.
Pretty cool stuff. America!!!
