Huge milestone for Ball X Pit
Digital returns returns to the spotlight, announcing a new impetus for development Ball X Pit. The high-energy action roguelike has already surpassed one million copies sold, a leap that comes just weeks after it passed the 400,000 mark in late October. The number includes Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, although its presence on Xbox Game Pass goes beyond the traditional count.
This surge comes just as developer Kenny Sun prepares to expand the game's live arsenal. There are three free updates planned for the next year, each introducing a small constellation of new balls, evolutions and characters. The Regal update leads the pack in January, followed by the darker Shadow Update in April. Summer will bring the Naturalist update in July, filled with green energy. The newly released trailer gives a glimpse of what players can expect.
Ball X Pit allows players to control and combine over sixty different balls as they navigate through auto-scrolling battlefields. The game carries the rhythm of old school block breakers, intertwined with the ever-changing intensity of modern roguelikes. In addition to skirmishes, players form and rebuild the city of New Bolbilon. It adds a quiet layer of world-building between bouts of controlled chaos.
The result is a game that continues to gain momentum like an elusive sphere on polished marble. With a growing community and three updates on the horizon, Ball X Pit looks set to continue its strong development into the coming year.
