Close enough, welcome back Xperia Play. After graduation teaser video In early November, Ayaneo fully unveiled its first smartphone called Pocket game. As expected, the Ayaneo Pocket Play features a slide-out mechanism that transforms it from a chunky smartphone into a gaming pocket PC.
In gaming configuration, the Pocket Play features a controller with a D-pad, ABXY buttons, and four shoulder buttons. However, Ayaneo has upgraded the design of the Xperia Play to include two touch panels, which will also be seen in the next flagship device of the portable device manufacturer called Next II. According to Ayaneo, you can map these touchpads as virtual joysticks or custom inputs. Ayaneo has yet to reveal the Pocket Play's specs, but the device appears to have slots that could hint at memory expansion capabilities.
Pocket Play will be Ayaneo's first foray into the smartphone world, albeit with mobile gaming in mind. It will have to compete with other gaming smartphones such as Redmagic 10 Pro or Asus. ROG phone seriesas well as the latest iPhone and Samsung Galaxy smartphones, which also support demanding mobile games. Ayaneo will launch Pocket Play on Kickstarter coming soon, but hasn't revealed any pricing details yet.
