Marvel's Michael Waldron says he “can't think of many times” when his ideas for the MCU were rejected, except for the time he tried to put a quirky X-Men Easter egg in it. Disney Plus the Loki series.
The writer-producer behind Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and the upcoming Avengers: Judgment Day has taken on the Reddit on Oct. 30 to promote his new TV show, Chad Powers. On Ask Me Anything, a fan asked him how he approaches writing an existing universe. “How do you stay creative within these boundaries?” they wondered.
“Don’t be afraid of not getting the job, and if you do get the job, don’t be afraid of failing. You have to take big weird turns and try to do things that only you can do,” Waldron responded. “There's a lot of creative freedom in the MCU. I think Loki is the strangest thing in the world. I can't remember how many times I was told no. Maybe when I originally wrote the deleted version of Mojover in the Void.”
For the uninitiated, the Mojoverse is a pocket dimension ruled by Mojo, a member of a race of spineless beings driven mad by waves of energy known as “TV Signals” that are scattered throughout their timeline. Said waves were images of bizarre demon-like creatures and originated from another space-time continuum, although it took centuries for the good Mojo to discover this fact. This world also contains a mutant named Longshot, whose superpower of “luck” protects him from harm.
Mojo World, which was located in the Mojo Universe, was based on the television industry, and Mojo became the leader of the dimension, controlling it.
