- Easy to pick up and play space shooter
- Wide variety of levels
- Space theme
Who doesn't want to be a cat (or bunny?) in space jumping around and shooting random spider robots?! AstroCat Adventures is a space shooter where you go level by level, encountering various dangers and robots to defeat. The goal is to complete each level as quickly as possible. To do this, you need to destroy all the robots in the room to clear it before moving on to the next one.
AstroCat Adventures has both a free demo version containing four different rooms and a full version. In the latter, you can choose your character before starting, choosing whether you are a cat or a bunny and choosing a space suit. The levels themselves are procedurally generated, so they don't present the same rooms in the same order as you play. This adds a lot of variety to this simple mechanic as the perspective changes depending on what room you're in and what enemies or dangers are actually present in that room.
However, it's not all about enemies and lasers in every room. There are also shields you can carry that will allow you to take hits without taking damage, more lives you'll need if you do get hit, and weapon upgrades that will make you more powerful and faster at taking down enemies.

Bonus points are awarded for how quickly you complete each level. You find yourself in a sort of flow, moving around and attacking various enemies, dodging their bullets and getting to them before they wake up and attack. It's a fun little arcade adventure, and going forward it aims to create a story throughout, tying aspects together.
For now, though, it's just a fun little shooter that's quick and easy to get through.
