Toby Wallace was chosen to play the lead role in Netflixupcoming series “Assassin's Creed” Diversity confirmed.
The live show, based on the video game franchise of the same name, was filmed in a series on Netflix in June. Exact details about the character are kept secret.
The series' official tagline states that the series “focuses on a secret war between two shadowy factions – one attempting to determine the future of humanity through control and manipulation, and the other fighting to preserve free will. The series follows its characters through key historical events as they battle to shape the destiny of humanity.”
The Assassin's Creed games explore the war between the rival secret orders of the Assassins and Templars as they use advanced machines to access the genetic memories of Assassins from different periods in the past to hunt down powerful artifacts called Pieces of Eden.
Wallace is best known for his roles in films such as Biker Boys, Babyteeth, Finestkind and The Royal Hotel. On television, he starred in the FX limited series Pistol, which told the story of the pioneering punk band The Sex Pistols. He has also appeared in shows such as Society and Romper Stomper, and will also appear in the third season of Euphoria on HBO.

Roberto Patino and David Wiener serve as creators, showrunners and executive producers. Ubisoft Film & Television's Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin and Austin Dill, along with Matt O'Toole, are executive producers.
The first Assassin's Creed game debuted in 2007 and became an instant hit, with various games in the franchise having sold over 230 million copies to date. There are currently 14 installments in the main franchise, the latest of which was Assassin's Creed: Shadows, released in 2025. A film adaptation starring Michael Fassbender was released in 2016.
