Mickey LeeThe actress's passing has sparked reactions from many of her Big Brother Season 27 co-stars… including the season's winner, Ashley Holliswho swears she tried to make peace with Lee.
Here's the thing… after her season of Big Brother ended, Leigh said she felt like the only “traditional black woman” on the show.
Lee went on to say, “I believe Ashley is also African American, but we come from different backgrounds. When I talk about traditional black girls, I mean the ones that people always stereotype.”
ML later clarified by saying that “traditional” was the wrong word… and what she meant instead was that she was the most “stereotypical” black woman in the house. Hollis responded to Lee's comments by sharing a video of her parents (both of whom are Black) and essentially ridiculing the statement.
Fast forward to Friday, when the Lee family shared news of her demise … and Ashley shared a post on Instagram that she said she sent Mickey a few weeks ago in an attempt to bury the hatchet.
Ashley writes in the text that she wants to be the bigger person… adding that she doesn't want the two black women on the show to be pitted against each other and insists that she truly cared about Mickey during their time on the show together. She didn't say whether Mickey ever responded.
Hollis received a bit of criticism for posting the message… with people claiming she was just trying to look better now that Mickey is gone. She eventually deleted the Instagram post, but wrote on X that she only shared it because people called her out posting a tribute Mickey earlier that day.
As you know… Mickey passed away on Thursday after suffering series of cardiac arrests earlier this week. She was 35.
