Like many emigrants in Saudi Arabia, the flamptra lives in a closed community known as a compound.
These residential complexes offer a lifestyle that is more similar to the Western suburban areas and have sports halls, pools, restaurants and other amenities in the autonomous area. Some even have unofficial bars that serve alcohol, which is prohibited in Saudi Arabia.
The Permptra says that she feels happier and safer, like a woman living in Jidd than in the UK.
“I know international players, members of my family and friends who came here who sincerely feel safer and calmer than in the UK,” she said.
“My friend who was here, we described it as a bubble of the world.
“I will give an example. I was in the supermarket, and I had all these bags. I live in the complex. I had to take all these bags in the elevator so that I would leave my car with an open door, engine and keys in the car so that I can start shopping.
“In the UK, I would never leave my car with keys. Here I have no problem.
“Naturally, everyone is a little afraid to walk at night, but I do not need to constantly check my shoulder. I know that this is only the point of view of myself, not everyone who lives here, but with safety, I cannot agree with some views that, as the Western world is. ”
As Plometra says, this is just one of the prospects for a woman’s life in Saudi Arabia.
Some of the most noticeable unequal practices in the country no longer exist. Women were allowed to drive a car since 2018. A year later, that more than 21 years can apply for a passport.
But the concept of guardianship, or “twisted”, is central in Saudi culture. Traditionally, every woman has “Vali”, a male guardian who makes decisions on her behalf.
There was some reform – women over 21 no longer need to be approved for access to healthcare or education, but messages from organizations such as Amnesty International, they say that this is not always carried out, and women are still very limited by what they can do, wear and say.
Answering the question of how she was treated from the moment she moved, the plump -player replies: “I do not feel a threat here.
“Men are recommended to treat women in a certain way, and there are consequences if they do not.
“Every woman can say that they have a level of fear if they had to walk at night, whether in Saudi or Great Britain, but there are levels of fear, and in Saudi Arabia there are lower levels based on how people behave.”
