OCTOBER 13. A former strip club employee has been arrested for a drive-by shooting in Florida.
Well, actually, it was more like a drive-in cheeseburger.
Investigators approve that Jordan Cotto, 26, showed up Friday night at the Atlantis men's club to “talk to management” but “got into a verbal argument.”
During the argument, Cotto allegedly “grabbed a cheeseburger from his vehicle” and threw the delicacy, striking the male victim in the shoulder and causing him “bodily injury.” The man, however, was not seriously wounded by a beef and cheese shell.
When questioned by police, Cotto reportedly admitted to committing the crime and showed no remorse for the incident at the Tampa club. “The defendant stated that he threw the cheeseburger out of his vehicle,” and said that he would “do it again.” in a criminal case.
No weapons were seized, police said.
Pictured on the right, Cotto was arrested for battery, a misdemeanor, and booked into the county jail. He was released on his own recognizance yesterday afternoon by a judge who ordered him to have no contact with the victim (though the defendant was not prohibited from having cheeseburgers).
Cotto was arrested last month for robbing his uncle's boat and stealing a firearm, which he sold to a relative for $300. Prosecutors subsequently declined to file criminal charges, concluding that “the facts and circumstances identified do not warrant prosecution at this time.” (1 page)
