Argonauts hire Mike Miller as head coach

The Toronto Argonauts are promoting from within in their role as head coach.

Mike Miller, the Argos' defensive backs coach since 2022, has been named head coach of Toronto, the CFL team announced Tuesday.

Miller has coached in the CFL, NCAA, NFL, XFL and NFL Europe. His main role was as offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals during the 2011-12 season. Miller then spent one year as the Montreal Alouettes' offensive coordinator before returning to the college ranks.

Miller's hiring came after the Argos interviewed Winnipeg Blue Bombers coach Mike O'Shea, who ultimately decided to re-sign with Winnipeg.

3 Down Nation It was also reported that Hamilton Tiger-Cats football operations president Orlondo Steinwaer declined an interview request from Toronto.

Miller will lead an Argos team that will play only six of 18 games in Toronto next season due to World Series conflicts at BMO Field.
