Arc Games is now an independent publisher

Arc Games positions itself as an independent publisher.

The studio, formerly part of the Embracer Group, has confirmed a successful management buyout of Embracer with funding from XD Inc. This, the company says, will help it continue its “long-standing mission of delivering high-quality, innovative games to players around the world.”

Going forward, Arc Games will maintain its existing organizational structure, including “the continued leadership of CEO Yoon Im and the entire company team.”

The company said that “with its independence secured, Arc Games is accelerating preparations for the release of a large number of unannounced games, new partnerships with AA and independent publishers, and continued support of its current portfolio.”

“This milestone marks an important new chapter for Arc Games,” said Yoon Im, CEO of Arc Games. “We value our time as part of the Embracer Group and the achievements achieved since the company was founded over 15 years ago.

“These experiences shaped who we are today. As an independent publisher, we can now more fully realize our vision of collaborating with great developers from around the world and bringing outstanding games to market. 2026 is already shaping up to be one of the most ambitious and innovative years in our history, and we look forward to what lies ahead.”

Hugger last week sold Arc Games along with Cryptic Studios. It is the publisher of the games Star Trek Online, Neverwinter and the Remnant series, as well as Torchlight and Hyper Light Breaker.
