If you purchased a new Apple device this holiday season, it might be time to start a three-month free trial of Fitness+. In a cryptic Instagram video, Apple hints at “something big” coming to its workout service.
The 15-second spot shows people reading newspapers with headlines related to Fitness+, including “The countdown begins,” “Plans for 2026 still under wraps—for now” and “Something big is coming to Apple Fitness+.” Other parts of the ad hint at “all-new content” and “major changes” coming soon.
It's not uncommon for Apple to announce new Fitness+ programs in early January. Earlier this year Apple revealed a new lineup of programs on January 3rd that included strength training, yoga and walking classes, as well as integration with Strava. Apple also teased these new programs on its Instagram account, but it was much less cryptic.
In November. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported that Fitness+ was on internal review as Apple sought new avenues for its troubled service. Besides, separate service Health+ Rumor has it that it pairs real-life medical professionals with Apple Intelligence to offer diagnostic advice. It's unclear whether this “big” announcement is related to a change to Fitness+ or new content.
Fitness+ costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year and is also included with Apple One plans. It is available on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple TV.
