Folding phone
These are still unconfirmed rumors, but like everything related to the popular iPhone, they are generating interest. If they're right, the first foldable iPhone will arrive in 2026 and will fold from side to side like a book. He will have 7.8″ crease-free displaytwo rear cameras and Touch ID. One rumor said Apple could build Face ID into your phone's screen. The phone is rumored to sell for almost $2,000.
Apple is still the only major phone maker that doesn't yet have folding phone.
Technical writer and investor M.G. Sigler from SpyglassThe technical analysis website says Apple believes “they can offer an improved version” of other folding and rollable phones already on the market.
“The iPhone Fold is probably the most interesting because Samsung has been making them for years and even Google is doing a couple iterations at the moment,” Sigler told CNET. “They've gotten pretty good, but Apple must be viewing the crease issue and the lack of custom-designed software for the device as an opportunity – especially since it's pretty easy to see a world in which the iPhone Fold unfolded looks a lot like the iPad mini.”

Phone without frame
Leaker Yeux1122 also revealed that Apple will release a bezel-less iPhone in 2027, which will mark the 20th anniversary of the first iPhone. A bezel is a frame that surrounds the iPhone's screen and provides structural support so the display won't break if you drop the phone. The bezel-less iPhone, shaped like a “flat all-in-one,” will have an OLED display that wraps around all four edges of the phone. According to the leak, it will also have Face ID.
The idea of eliminating the bezel has been around for over a decade. Apple has reportedly researched the design of the iPhone 6. in 2014. Samsung Display, which makes most of the iPhone screens, has reportedly begun working on it in 2023.
“It's a no-brainer because that's what Apple has always considered the ideal version of the iPhone product,” Sigler said. “I’m just holding a piece of glass in my hands. “They'll clearly be marketing it as the biggest flagship update since the iPhone X launched 10 years ago, and that will probably work from a marketing standpoint.”
Flip phone
According to Yeux1122, Apple could end the flurry of new designs with a rollable model in 2028. Unlike the foldable model, the foldable iPhone will fold vertically, like a clamshell. One of the two screens will be more utilitarian, with AI shortcuts and a notification window.
The Flip will reportedly be a more stylish model, aimed at the “female” and “fashion” markets.
Sigler said he “sees the appeal” of a flip iPhone after owning a Motorola Razr.
“I think people who don't like carrying increasingly larger slabs in their pockets might be intrigued by this form factor,” he said.
iPhone Air sales fall
Apple isn't shying away from other new phone styles. iPhone Airthe thinnest iPhone ever released in September, but rumor has it that demand for the thin phone has been weak. It is reported that Apple has sharply reduced production levels to almost “end of production levels“Because of sluggish sales.
“This sudden interest in new form factors is part of Apple's attempt to 'get back to its roots,'” Sigler said. “After all the hype around AI, I think Apple may have taken a step back and realized that despite all the hype around AI, everyone still needs to run all this newfangled technology somewhere – 'flight to safety' like I wrote about“
