AOC’s Campaign Dumps Tens of Thousands into Luxury Hotels and Bad Bunny Venue Rental in Puerto Rico

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-N.Y.) campaign is under fire for documents showing tens of thousands of dollars spent on luxury hotels and rentals for Bad Bunny's Puerto Rico space, as her campaign claims she “regularly travels to Puerto Rico to support local causes and events that require both staffing and security.”

According to report As Fox News reports, the Democratic Socialist's campaign spent a whopping $50,000 in Puerto Rico alone from June to September on things like venue rentals and luxury hotels, among other things. Specifically, the $23,000 venue rental happened in roughly the same area where she was seen dancing at a Bad Bunny concert.

Videos that surfaced on social media from the August trip show AOC visiting an apartment complex to protest gentrification, while other social media footage shows her dancing in boxes at the Bad Bunny concert on Aug. 10 with Rep. Nydia Velazquez, D-N.Y. Between August and September, Bad Bunny held a 31-show “Residency” tour at the popular “El Choli” Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, which featured a host of celebrities such as LeBron James, Iggy Azalea, Penelope Cruz and Austin Butler, among others.

Meanwhile, the third quarter campaign finance report, which documents campaign spending for members of Congress between July 1 and September 30, shows that AOC's campaign spent more than $15,000 at two luxury hotels in San Juan where Bad Bunny held his “Residence” tour. The campaign also spent more than $10,500 on food and catering services, documents show.

Ocasio-Cortez's campaign manager, Oliver Hidalgo-Wollerbehn, told Fox News Digital that the Democrat “regularly travels to Puerto Rico to support local causes and events that require both personnel and security” and called the activity an investment in grassroots organizing.

“She is deeply proud of her investment in grassroots organizing and will continue to be a strong advocate for both the islanders and the millions of Puerto Ricans in the diaspora,” he added.
