Joshua didn't have it as easy as he wanted. He landed 62% of his power shots, but was not expected to advance the fight beyond the round.

“It wasn’t my best performance,” Joshua admitted, adding that Paul held his own in the fight.

Paul came out bouncing around the ring and trying to land punches wherever he could. He landed some quick shots on Joshua and probably won the first round. However, Paul's strategy began to irritate the referee and the crowd.

The Cleveland native punched Joshua and attempted to grab him. He hit the mat several times, drawing screams from the crowd at the Casey Center in Miami. The judge even had to weigh in.

“The fans didn’t pay to see this crap,” the referee said midway through the fourth round.

They definitely didn't do that.

But the two brought it in after the referee's warning, but Paul's stamina began to fade. This allowed Joshua to come forward and land the necessary punches to knock him down.

Paul entered the fight with only one blemish on his record – a defeat to Tommy Fury. He won victories over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Mike Tyson – the last fight was one of the biggest spectacles the sport has seen in recent years.

He told Netflix's Ariel Helwani that he believed his jaw was broken. He said he will take a break after the fight and come back stronger.

Joshua hasn't fought since September last year. He was knocked out by Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title. Prior to this, his winning streak was four fights, having won victories over Francis Ngannou, Otto Wallin, Robert Helenius and Jermaine Franklin.
