WASHINGTON (AP) — Anthony Edwards scored 35 points, Julius Randle added 22 and the Minnesota Timberwolves closed out the season with a 141-115 win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday night.

Rudy Gobert had 18 points and 14 rebounds for his 15th double-double of the season as Minnesota outscored Washington in the paint 76-48. The Timberwolves went 3-1 in their road game and won on back-to-back days for the third time this season.

C.J. McCollum had 20 points to lead Washington, which at 9-25 has the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference. The Wizards have won four of five.

Minnesota had its third game of the season scoring over 140 points, while the Wizards scored over 140 points for the fourth time.

The Timberwolves kept pace after a strong start from Edwards after the first five minutes. The guard scored 16 points in the first quarter — his best first-period performance this season — as Minnesota built a 38-28 lead.

In the first half, Washington committed nine turnovers and forced only one. Minnesota scored 12 points off turnovers en route to a 73-58 halftime lead and had a 26-13 advantage in turnovers for the game.

The Wizards never got closer than 13 after halftime. Edwards scored 18 points in the third quarter as the Timberwolves pulled away to a 108-79 lead. Their biggest lead was 37.

Edwards, who did not play in the fourth quarter, also grabbed six rebounds and set a season-high with four steals.

The Timberwolves won three straight games in Washington for the first time since Jan. 12, 2002, through Dec. 12, 2003.

Forward Keyshawn George, Washington's third-leading scorer with 15 points per contest, missed his fifth straight game with a strained left hip flexor.
