Anne Hathaway takes her style cues from the outline of a woman's figure on a bathroom door, but in a fashionable way. We don't mean this as a diss, honestly.
For the past month, her silhouette of choice has been a clean T-shirt shape and a long train that is either attached to or indistinguishable from her top, and we're starting to see that vision. This gives a cape. On Oct. 4, the Oscar winner attended Balenciaga's spring/summer 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week, wearing eye-catching opera gloves and a graphic T-shirt that resembled a mullet when she stood up; short in front, long in back, reaching to the floor and sharply trailing behind her. Thus the T-shirt train was born.
Add to that the fact that she was spotted wearing a looser white version of a similar item on the set of a certain sequel over the summer, and you've got a trend in the works…

Then, on October 20, Hathaway attended the 19th Annual Heart of Gold Awards benefiting God's Love We Deliver in New York City, wearing a Michael Kors ensemble that, while not technically a T-shirt train, might fool us. Dressed in head-to-toe black, she wore a T-shirt and pants, along with a sheer wrap skirt that definitely resembled a train as it flowed behind her as she walked.
