Ancient Farm Will Start Cultivating on PC Next Week

Peaceful life awaits on the ancient farm

Ancient Farm will be released on PC on January 8th and is a peaceful farming simulator set in Ancient Egypt during the time of the pharaohs. Designed to be a relaxed single-player experience, the game offers players a first-person perspective and challenges them to build a life around farming, animal care, and resource management. Console versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 will appear sometime in 2026.

The game was developed by the independent studio A2 Softworks, based in Poland. Ultimate Games SA is responsible for publishing both PC and console editions.

In Ancient Farm, players start with a small plot of land and gradually expand their farm through hard work and smart decisions. The setting is loosely based on ancient Egyptian life. Instead of modern technology, players rely on simple tools inspired by the period. Each task takes time and effort, creating a slower, more thoughtful pace.

Farming and animal care form the core of the game, but the game goes beyond these systems. Players can mine resources, construct buildings, craft useful items, and cook food. Seasonal changes and changes in market prices lead to simplified economic planning, encouraging players to carefully manage resources and reinvest profits to expand their operations.

A wide selection of crops and animals allows for a flexible play style. Crops include wheat, flax, cotton, hemp, papyrus sedge, sugar cane, grapes, olive trees and more. Animals range from chickens and cows to sheep and bulls. Combined with a variety of ancient tools, these systems work together to create a casual yet engaging history-based simulation.
