Anchor Will Bring Its Underwater Survival on PC

Explore the depths at Anchor

Fearem, a seasoned indie studio known for its tech projects, has announced Anchor, an underwater survival game coming soon to PC. The game takes place in a huge, persistent open world. The game supports over 150 players on each server, allowing players to explore, build and battle together under the waves.

The story begins after a nuclear disaster forces humanity to seek refuge deep in the Earth's oceans. You awaken as a new, genetically engineered race designed to live underwater in Anchor, a region specifically designed to support an aquatic civilization. Players must build bases, provide cover, and defend against both the hostile environment and surviving opponents.

In Anchor, survival doesn't stop when you quit the game. Each server exists continuously, developing even in your absence. While you are offline, your base remains exposed to threats from nature and other players, so strong defenses and reliable alliances are crucial. These resilient worlds are powered by Fearem's custom networking technology, the result of the studio's decades of experience working on large-scale multiplayer systems.

The game's 16 square kilometer map features a wide range of underwater biomes, from vibrant coral forests to the cold arctic depths. Players can craft and collect materials to expand their bases, create communities, or engage in undersea warfare. Dangers abound, including remnants of ancient clones of a lost civilization, player raids, and apex predators such as sharks attracted by the smell of blood.

Anchor promises a combination of tension, cooperation and survival in an ever-changing ocean world where the deep sea becomes both a refuge and a battlefield.
