Nobody can escape The phenomenon of “Hunting Wives”even the cast of Saturday Night Live.

During the Oct. 11 episode of the NBC comedy series, hosted by alum Amy Poehler with musical guest “Role Model,” the show poked fun at the hit Netflix drama starring Brittany Snow and Malin Åkerman with a fake trailer.

IN sketch Teasing what might happen in the series' highly anticipated second season, the voiceover began, “Millions of Americans tuned in to the first season of Hunting Wives, the straight-up lesbian, horny Republican murder drama, and now they're back for more.”

Chloe Fineman appears as Snow's character Sophie and reveals that she has been released from prison. Poehler, portraying Åkerman's character Margot in a similar wig, welcomes her with open arms. Cast member Sarah Sherman and lead Ashley Padilla also play characters from the Netflix hit.

Shortly after it hit Netflix on July 21, The Hunting Wives, based on May Cobb's novel of the same name, became a major success. The erotic drama centers on the relationship between Sophie, who moves from Boston to East Texas with her architect husband, and a group of wealthy Southern housewives known as the Huntwives.

The leader of the group is Margot, with whom Sophie becomes close before their friendship develops into romance. Meanwhile, the social circle is also grappling with the murder of a local teenager.

Åkerman and Snow confirmed this in video on social networks On September 12 he wrote that there will be a show returning for a second season. The funny clip ended with Åkerman—wearing a wig that Margot would probably approve of—announcing in her best Texas drawl, “Pack your boots and load your guns. We're coming back to Maple Brook for season two, baby!”

In a statement published on the Netflix website Tudumexecutive producer Rebecca Cutter said of the upcoming season, “I'm so excited to write these amazing characters again. And I can't wait to take viewers on another sexy, kinky, crazy ride through Maple Brook.”
