- Monochrome Kindles are 'slightly sharper,' says Amazon
- Information is displayed on the Kindle's color display. Frequently Asked Questions
- You still get a high-quality experience from Colorsoft Kindles.
When Amazon introduced Kindle Colorsoft Last October, we wondered what compromises might come with a color display – and Amazon has now officially admitted that its black-and-white e-readers offer a superior reading experience.
As I noticed Good reader (by using Android Police), FAQs for some color Kindle devices have been updated to say that monochrome Kindle The Paperwhite offers a “slightly clearer” display of your e-readers.
Although the text seems to have disappeared from the page for a new one Kindle Scribe Colorsoft introduced just last month, it can still be found listed on Kindle Colorsoft and even Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition.
That's not to say there's anything particularly bad about the Colorsoft models, however: Amazon says these readers provide a “high-quality reading experience,” albeit with a different level of brightness and texture compared to black-and-white Kindles.
Color me, interesting
We certainly had no complaints about the display in our Amazon Kindle Colorsoft reviewcalling the reader's display fast, crisp, and fantastic for content like comics. Of course, the screen is not as glossy and rich as a phone or tablet.
The color element is added with a separate color layer: in particular, Kaleido 3 color display from E Inkwith support for 4096 different shades. You'll find the same screen technology in Kobo color books.
Kobo has actually beaten Amazon in the race to release a color reading book. there is a matter to be considered that Kobo models are Libra color and Clara Color – will give you the best value for money.
We haven't had a chance to fully review the latest Kindle Scribe Colorsoft release, but our first impressions are goodand of course, stylus support has been added. Color e-reader displays may be a little less clear, but that's not something to worry about.
