Best Survivor and Ego/Killer in Alter Ego depend on factors such as team play or solo play/transfer for survivors, and mobility and damage for Ego. I'll take both factors into account when creating two-tier lists with ranking explanations, as you'll see below. Here's mine Alter Ego Tier list and guide for every killer and survivor.

Tier List of Alter Ego Killers and Survivors
I will rank the best survivors in Alter Ego depending on both team play and single carry potential (discussed below). For Ego, I will directly compare them to each other for each ability. Note that there is currently a possibility of stacking stuns, so Fjord and Noob are a bit stronger than the others until they fix this. Let's look at all the Survivors and Egos individually.
S-level egos and survivors
S-Level Ego/Survivor | Why S-Tier + Guide |
---|---|
![]() Fallen Ego |
• Overall, Caducus was found to be more reliable than Husk for the following reasons. • Swipe your finger across the screen is far superior to Slam because you get more forward mobility and a wider strike that can hit multiple survivors. • Falling movement Spectral Dash doesn't deal damage, but is much faster and less awkward to use, and also gives you stealth so you can act unpredictably. • Bad breath very useful because it's a ranged projectile that allows you to shoot low health enemies or run a generator to slow them down while they solve puzzles. • Dark Descent has a huge range, you get huge map visibility, you can't get hit/stunned during it like with Husk's ult due to the flight, and it can even knock down a few survivors on the way down |
![]() Commander Survivor |
• Overall, in a highly skilled team, the commander is probably the best survivor. • This is because you can reliably find generators for your team using Survey and then speed them up with Strength in numbers run away when the killer appears • Strength in numbers is the best skill in the game when you're done with the generators and need to get to the emergency doors. • Yours Leadership passive allows you to find teammates near the killer and then walk up to them to speed them up • In addition, Survey allows you and your team to detect the killer before it arrives in the generation your team does. • Overall there is a lot of team benefit here, but you don't have the power alone, so keep that in mind when playing on a bad team. |
![]() Noob Survivor |
• Noob is a great combination of team utility and solo strength. • Your stun Slingshot can strike from ranged, allowing you to save yourself and a ranged ally (Also, assassins are harder to dodge than Fjord Strike if you aim well) • Bloxy Cola allows you to change position if you are spotted on a generator, or restore stamina if you are being chased or trying to reach/rescue a teammate • The passive ability is not as strong, but the basic set is really good for both team play and solo wear. |
A-Level Egos and Survivors
A-Tier Ego/Survivor | Why A-Tier + Guide |
---|---|
![]() Fjord Survivor |
• Fjord is built to support the team and can be very strong if it works correctly, but there are some problems so it is at A level. • Slash The 5 second stun is extremely powerful, especially when you stack it with other stuns, but is difficult to hit as the assassin can easily dodge due to the slow telegraph. (Be sure to lure the killers into corners and trigger the animation around the corner so that the killer doesn't see him and you get hit unexpectedly) • Warrior's Call reduces damage dealt to allies but slows you, which acts like a taunt to force the killer to focus on you (Combine with the commander's strength in numbers to help your team escape) • However, Warrior's Call can make you an easy target, and when the assassin is done with you, your team buff will disappear as it focuses on your allies. • Your best bet is to save your teammates with Warrior's Call, and then when the assassin attacks, you'll try to strike and then retreat. |
![]() Husk Ego |
• Husk's movements are a little more awkward and slow to land, which is why I put him lower than Caducus, but once you get used to their timing, Husk actually does more damage. • Jump forward Great for generator crowds for a good AoE damage opening. (Note that the start is slow, so plan your trajectory a little and don't spam it) • Ancient punishment gives you some mobility and does more damage than Caducus' damage skill while stunned, but can be difficult to land (Luckily it has a wide hitbox which is currently in alpha) • Your ultimate Crushing blow weaker than Kaduk's flight, however it still works and you gain some mobility while automatically defeating Fjords that try to cut you up. (The main problems are that you are easier to stun than Kaduc and you don't go around the area so survivors can jump and defend) |
B-Level Egos and Survivors
B-Tier Ego/Survivor | Why B-level + Management |
---|---|
![]() Patient Zero Survivor |
• In short, you have B-tier team utility and S-tier solo/carry potential. • Your abilities are very selfish and strong if the killer focuses on you, but if they leave you alone and kill your team, you will have a bad time since you have no support. • Life Minutes means that you will have more overall health than others, despite having a lower starting health pool. (I'd actually hit your team where possible by baiting the monster and then healing some makeshift team utility) • Dissociation is your strongest ability, allowing you to escape and return to the generators, but it will not help your team. (However, it gets really strong when all the generators are ready and the emergency doors open) |
