These were the thoughts I had while watching the trailer.
1.
Okay, Sarah Paulson. THIS is how you make an entry.
2.
Paulson's line about the hallway being shaped like a “clown's cervix” kind of gives the idea of ”a man trying to write dialogue for a woman,” since I'm not sure I've ever heard a real woman describe anything as “like a cervix” in any context, but I also appreciate unique imagery and am always here for more knowledge about female anatomy.
4.
Sarah Paulson looks GOOD too. I like it.
5.
There's a really strategic use of Britney Spears' “Work Bitch” here.
8.
I love that the first time the man appears in the trailer (and almost every time after), he completely loses his mind.
9.
“Men. They are afraid of women in power,” a woman in a pantsuit tells two other women in pantsuits. It's true, Glenn Close, it's true. This show may be a Disney movie for (some) women and a horror movie for (some) men.
10.
Personally, I believe that only weak, spineless men are afraid of women in power, and I would love to see more portrayals of balanced men on screen who are more than happy to appreciate and follow powerful women, but that's just me.
11.
“I tell my clients every day: you never truly know a person. It's just a trap.” Okay, I can't help but imagine that Kim K. felt really good about saying that afterward. terrible divorce from (and ongoing co-parenting efforts c) Kanye West.
13.
“Every tear you shed is $100,000 in your pocket.” That's definitely what Taylor Swift was talking about when she sang. girl boss is too close to the sun on The life of a dancer and that's what I'm here for.
14.
I think it's actually going to be a lot of fun to watch. I recently heard a statistic that women reportedly initiate 70% of divorcesand overall it seems like now is the right time for a show like this.
15.
I'm really excited to see what happens with Sarah Paulson in this shot and in this trailer in general.
17.
Calling each other sluts and infertiles as insults? Maybe not the best manifestation of female friendship and solidarity, but something tells me that this is not the case either.
19.
For example, I am at 1000%.
