Commissioner Clete Stewart Johnston began a fiery storm on social networks last week when he introduced Several changes that will be deployed during the seasons of 2026 and 2027Field

The reaction of the fans was predictably strong. Despite the fact that there was a positive review, the consensus seemed to distort it negatively – in the end, we are talking about social networks – with some of the most ardent fans threatening to cancel their subscriptions. Almost 6,000 people signed a petition The call to the delay in the changes and for those who attend games, wear black as a form of protest.

3Downnation Over the past few days, we treated all the nine teams for comments, asking if the owners of seasonal tickets really canceled in protest against changes in the rule. Although some clubs were more transparent than others, each of them provided an answer, all of which can be found below.

Montreal Alouettes: Since CFL announced changes in the rule on Monday, we have not seen any abolition of seasonal tickets related to these adjustments. Our fans remain involved and supportive, and we continue to maintain an open dialogue with them.

OTTAWA Redblacks: We have no comments.

Toronto Argonauts: Seasonal places for the 2026 season are not sold. If any comments or questions will be received in the coming months, our organization will explain why, in our opinion, changes in the rule are strong strategic thinking from the league, since it works for growth.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats: Our sales numbers are not what we usually share publicly in any form. No matter what it costs, we had a lot of good conversations with the fans that caused to discuss our passion for the League. There was no mass outcome of fans that social networks would make you believe what it was.

Vinnipeg bombers: We will not provide any comments on this.

SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS: Appreciate the request and the reason behind it, but information about the extension is not the information that we share publicly.

Edmonton Elks: There is no abolition yet, since subscriptions are essentially paid. The renewal cycle has not yet begun, so you do not have numbers on the limit.

CALGARY StAMPEDERS: Not a single person canceled, so far in accordance with changes in the rule.

BC Lions: At the end of the day (on Thursday), we had nine requests in our office about the potentially not the resumption of their seasonal places. When we went to a losing series of two or three games, we had more, just to look at it.

The proof will be in the pudding, in 2026 – and in 2027, given that this is when the most radical changes will come into force – but now it seems that fans cancel their seasonal tickets as a protest.

3Downnation Continues reports on this story in the coming months and years.

As for the fact that the cell attendance has increased slightly in annual calculus, which will lead to an increase in the fourth voltage from the moment of returning to the field in 2021.
