Alienware 18 Area-51 RTX 5080 Laptop for $2,328.80
Like new (refurbished) with a 1 year Dell warranty.
This particular configuration comes well equipped with an 18-inch 2560×1600 300Hz G-Sync display, an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, an RTX 5080 16GB GPU, 32GB of DDR5-6400MHz memory, and a 1TB SSD. If you feel that the memory and storage are not enough for your needs, rest assured that both are easily upgradeable by the user.
There aren't many 18-inch gaming laptops in the world, and even fewer that feature the RTX 5080 mobile GPU. Of the ones available for purchase at the moment, this is by far the cheapest deal. In fact, this is one of the few laptops I've found for under $3,000. Take a look at its competitors (and note that these are sale prices):
Area-51: New color, curved design, metal construction and improved cooling.
The Alienware Area-51 is a significant upgrade over the previous generation Alienware m16. For starters, it's clad in anodized aluminum on both the lid and bottom of the case, and has a unique iridescent finish that sparkles in direct light. The frame is made of durable and lightweight magnesium alloy. Cooling has been improved with more copper and a new thermal interface. Dell claims it can handle up to 240W TDP without increasing noise levels.
In terms of design, the Area 51 has a sleeker, more contoured shape than previous models, with rounded edges and soft corners replacing the traditional boxy design. The hinges are located inside, so they are almost invisible. The undercarriage has a transparent window through which the internal components can be seen. There's also plenty of RGB lighting, although most of it can be turned off if you don't like it.
GeForce RTX 5080 Mobile GPU is better than RTX 4090 Mobile.
The Alienware Area-51's aggressive cooling allows it to use the RTX 5080 mobile GPU without throttling it. The RTX 5080 is about 15-20% more powerful than the RTX 4080 it replaces. In fact, it's even more powerful than the RTX 4090, which was the flagship card of the previous generation. You'll be able to play any game at 60fps or higher on a 1600p display. You can even enable ray tracing in most games, which was unheard of on laptops just a few years ago. The general consensus is that upgrading from the RTX 5080 Mobile to the RTX 5090 won't provide much of a performance boost compared to the huge price difference.
