Alexandre Texier: “I haven’t seen his offensive side in the NHL yet”

Yesterday, Canadiens sign Alexandre Texier.

While the 26-year-old Frenchman is not a savior, he has emerged at the right time for the Habs, who have been dealing with a number of injuries.

Although Texier has just one assist in eight games this season, it has been suggested many times over the last 24 hours that it is his immense talent.

As my colleague Felix Forget previously reportedMany of his former teammates and his former coach spoke of his talent, but that the striker never found his niche with the Blues.

Then Antoine Roussel, who took part in the Sortie de Zone, added another layer by stating that Texier had not yet reached maturity.

According to the presenter, we have not yet seen his attacking side in the NHL.

Roussel played with Texier internationally for the French national team.

So he had a front-row seat to watch the Habs' new forward. And, in his opinion, Texier has attacking potential.

Montreal is still interesting.

The forward has 30 points in 78 games in the 2023/24 season and 20 points in 36 games in the 2021/2022 season.

Indeed, since his move to the Blues last year, his offensive output has plummeted, with just 11 points in 31 games.

If Texier can get back to scoring around 30 points a year, he could provide an interesting piece of depth on the team's third line when the injured return to action.

And if, as Roussel says, the forward has the offensive potential to stand out against the Habs, he could be a pleasant surprise in Montreal.

Let's just say it's an interesting game for the Houses that costs them absolutely nothing.

After a while

– What a saving throw!

– Game over.

– A heavy loss for Columbus.

– There are a lot of rumors about David Pagnotta.

– Eight in a row for the Raptors.
